@Ibrahim: You need to understand first how it works.

Squid generate access logs in a file /var/log/squid/access.log

Syslog-ng will redirect these logs to mysql server.

Now, about your question..
Squid + syslog-ng should be on a same server.
Mysql server can be anywhere as long as it’s accessible.

As a new high-school graduate I did begin to notice more and more technological advances during the end of my educational career. It did begin to become over-used and started to destract me from my studies. Class became more of “who could set the high score” rather than furthering my education. Im not saying technology in class in wrong but, less is better than none.

is mysql,syslog-ng, and squid in one server. what about if they in different server( squid, syslog-ng+mysql). how to tell squid to send log to syslog-ng ?
